Eight New Achievements Just Landed on Puzzle Lair
We have added eight new achievements to Puzzle Lair, giving dedicated solvers fresh ways to prove their skills and their patience. Every one of these is earned honestly from your actual play data, so each badge really does mean what it says.
The New Achievements
One Sitting rewards you for completing hard puzzles from start to finish without pausing, at 1, 5, and 20 completions.
Line Only is for Number Loop players who never mark an edge as excluded, at 1, 10, and 50 completions.
Stars Only is for Star Battle players who solve without ever using the Exclude mark, at 1, 10, and 50 completions.
Bare Ripple goes to Ripple Effect players who finish without leaning on pencil notes, at 1, 10, and 50 completions.
Kakuro Mental Math is the same idea for Kakuro, completing puzzles without pencil notes, at 1, 10, and 50 completions.
No Rewind tracks Number Loop and Star Circle players who solve without ever touching Undo, Redo, or Clear All, at 1, 10, and 50 completions.
No Shuffle Crossmath is for Crossmath players who never erase a placed tile or hit Clear All, at 1, 10, and 50 completions.
Cold Read is the toughest of the set. It rewards a hard, leaderboard eligible puzzle solved on your first attempt with no pauses, no notes, no erases, no failed checks, and no mistakes, at 1, 5, and 20 completions.
Why These Achievements
Most of these badges are built around a simple idea, purist play. Some players like to solve with every aid available, notes, undo, the works. Others prefer to go in clean and rely on their own reasoning from the first cell to the last. These achievements give that second group of players something to chase and something to show for the way they already play.
Cold Read stands apart as an accuracy achievement rather than a purist one. It asks you to bring your best game on a hard puzzle the very first time you see it, with nothing going wrong along the way. It is meant to be rare.
A Note on Fairness
Because some of these achievements depend on tracking that was only recently added to Puzzle Lair, older completed puzzles are not eligible for the achievements that rely on that new tracking. This keeps things fair. Nobody gets a badge for play we could not actually verify. Achievements that were always trackable with reliable data, like One Sitting, Bare Ripple, and Kakuro Mental Math, do count completions made since this feature launched.
